Our cookie policy

SII Belgium wants to ensure that the website is easy to use and reliable. This sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your computer, including small files which are known as cookies.

What is a cookie and what is it used for?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

These pieces of information are used to improve our services for you by, for example:

  • recognizing that you have logged in our applicant’s system and remember it so you don’t need to do it for every web page requested
  • analyzing how many people have been on our site, so it can be improved. This is done via Google Analytics (_Ga cookie)

Which cookies are used on our website?

We use the so called first party cookies and third party cookies. First party cookies are cookies that are created by the website itself so you can use the website more easily. Third party cookies are created by others, such as Google for example.

We use the strictly necessary cookies; these are the cookies that are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but you need to be aware that some parts of the website might not work properly anymore. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information. Next to that, we also use the performance cookies that allow us to analyze the traffic & performance on our website.

Disable cookies

If you decide that you do not want cookies to be set on your device by our third-party partners, you can adjust the settings on your internet browser and choose from the available cookies settings of your internet browser to best meet your preferences. Be aware that some parts of the website might not work properly anymore.

We use Google analytics for measuring how users interact with our website. If you do not wish us to track your activity, you can turn it off in the privacy settings, displayed at the bottom of the page.
